On a warm July evening, Tiril Jackson, a gifted Norwegian–American artist, took the stage at Lyrik Back Bay for an unforgettable performance during the Berklee Summer in the City Concert Series. A student at Berklee College of Music, Tiril delivered a soulful and emotionally rich set that left a lasting impression on everyone in attendance.
Originally from Senja, Norway, Tiril blends jazz, soul, and R&B with introspective lyrics and a unique global sound. Influenced by musical legends like Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson, she brings together her Scandinavian heritage and American roots to create music that resonates deeply.
Her 2024 debut EP, Who Are You?, has been described as a stunning collection of brass-infused, gospel-tinged neo-soul. Standout tracks like “Bored” and “It’s Alright” showcase her vocal range, lyrical depth, and emotional storytelling.
“When I perform, I want the audience to feel what I can’t say out loud. That’s the power of music.” – Tiril Jackson
This concert was part of Berklee's mission to connect Boston communities with fresh student talent. Tiril has also graced stages at Boston Calling, the Boston Public Library, and the Institute of Contemporary Art.
