Nubian Square Summer X Block Party – July 26, 2025
Nubian Square came alive for the Summer X Block Party, an all-day celebration of culture, music, and community held from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. The streets of Roxbury were filled with joy, energy, and a deep sense of pride as neighbors, families, artists, and leaders gathered together for this unforgettable event.
The day kicked off with music by DJ Dex, setting the tone early with uplifting vibes and classic cuts that brought people to their feet. The stage featured powerful local performances, including a standout set from Most High Kingdom, joined by legendary Boston rapper Ed.O.G., who brought hometown love and lyrical heat to the celebration. As the evening continued, the crowd was treated to iconic performances by DJ Red Alert, Doug E. Fresh, Slick Rick, and Renee Neufville of the R&B duo Zhane — all bringing unforgettable energy to Nubian Square.
The celebration also recognized local changemakers with community awards presented to Senator Liz Miranda, Chief Dion Irish, Christopher Sumner, and State Representative Chynah Tyler — each honored for their dedication and continued impact on Boston’s neighborhoods.
